Gather in a group of undetermined size.
Agree on a timeframe—here, one and a half hours.
Drift attentively through the city. Look for traces of informal, unofficial, unwanted, or otherwise illegitimate forms of Stadtgestaltung—city-making.
Whenever the group encounters an example, pause. Discuss how it contributes to the making, use, interpretation, or transformation of the city. Give the example a name.
One person serves as the group’s memory. They record each example together with its assigned name, gradually creating an inventory of informal contributions to the city.
At the end of the journey, gather and read the inventory aloud.
