In the niches of the officially planned city, the informal emerges beyond rules and norms: graffiti on walls, a chair marked “free to take away,” spontaneous vegetation breaking through the asphalt. The Office for Peripatetic Design invites you to be guided (and led astray) by the unplanned, and to discover in seemingly marginal spaces resistant gestures of a city lived differently. The walk engages the searching gaze upon urban space also embraced by the exhibition Groundwork at S AM.

Informelle Stadt: Auf der Suche nach dem Ungeplanten

In den Nischen der offiziell geplanten Stadt wächst das Informelle, das sich Regeln und Normen entzieht: Graffitis, ein Stuhl „gratis zum Mitnehmen“, Spontanvegetation im Asphalt. Das Office for Peripatetic Design lädt Sie ein, sich vom Ungeplanten zu (ver)leiten und in vermeintlichen Nebenschauplätzen Gesten einer anders gelebten Stadt zu erkennen. Der Spaziergang knüpft an den suchenden Blick auf den Stadtraum an, den auch die Ausstellung «Groundwork» im S AM einnimmt.
